Bill Furlong is a coal merchant in a small Irish town. It is Christmas time, 1985, and he is busy delivering fuel. One day, he makes a delivery to the local convent and finds something troubling. He must decide whether to ignore what he saw or to help someone in need, even if it causes trouble for his own family.
