Fourteen-year-old William Kamkwamba lives in a small farming village in Malawi where life depends on the rains. When a terrible drought strikes, William's family can no longer afford to send him to school. Determined to find a solution, William spends his days at the local library, where he discovers a book about windmills. Using scrap metal, old bicycle parts, and incredible ingenuity, he builds a windmill that brings electricity and hope to his village, proving that one curious mind can change the world.
